[CLOSED] SCICCA Painting Conservation Internship Program

The Science Conservation Centre for Art (SCICCA), Faculty of Science, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, is pleased to invite applications for the SCICCA Painting Conservation Internship Program.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team 1–2 days per week for a period of six months. The intern will work closely with the Head of Painting Conservation, contributing to a range of ongoing projects focused primarily on modern and contemporary paintings on diverse supports, and will assist with the daily operations and logistical management of the Painting Conservation Laboratory.

This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional conservation environment and to deepen understanding of both practical and scientific approaches to art conservation in Thailand.

The intern will also directly participate in ongoing research initiatives conducted within the Painting Conservation Laboratory and more broadly within SCICCA, contributing to interdisciplinary projects aimed at advancing knowledge in conservation practices, conservation science, materials analysis, and preservation methodologies.

💥 Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is committed to advancing their education and practical training

📍 Requirements

  • Master’s graduate or currently enrolled in a graduate program in conservation, or a science-related field (Master’s/PhD) with relevance to conservation
  • Good knowledge of painting materials and the Thai artistic context
  • Interest in exploring innovative conservation techniques
  • Strong analytical and technical skills in conservation practice
  • Preference will be given to Thai applicants

  • Duration: 6 months (with possibility of extension)
  • Period: May – October 2026
  • Schedule: 1–2 days per week (to be arranged with the selected candidate)
  • Location: Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand
