SCICCA Membership Terms
1. Membership period
Membership lasts 12 months from the start date and can be renewed under the conditions set by SCICCA.
2. Using your benefits
Members can use their benefits while their membership is valid. Benefits depend on the membership type and cannot be transferred to another person unless SCICCA states otherwise.
3. Seat booking and registration
Members can book seats or register before the general public for selected events, subject to seat availability and the conditions of each event.
4. Events and laboratory visits
Events and laboratory visits must be registered or booked in advance. Participation depends on SCICCA's schedule, staff availability and safety requirements.
5. Workshop discount
The discount applies only to participating workshops and cannot be combined with other discounts or promotions unless SCICCA states otherwise.
6. Scientific and conservation service discounts
Discounts apply to services specified by SCICCA and do not cover travel or external costs. Analysis and conservation work is scoped and quoted through SCICCA's normal process.
7. Conservation consultation
Collector Circle and Patron Circle members can ask our conservators for initial advice on care, storage and collection management throughout their membership, through channels set by SCICCA, at no extra cost. This depends on the scope of the question and the availability of our experts.
8. On-site consultation
Collector Circle members receive one on-site consultation with a conservator per year and Patron Circle members receive two, each of up to 2 hours, booked in advance. Travel and any additional costs will be confirmed with the member before the appointment.
9. Scope of consultation
Consultations cover initial advice on care, storage and collection management. They do not include formal condition assessments, scientific analysis, reports or conservation treatment, which are scoped and quoted separately.
10. Gifts and certificates
Gifts and certificates are given according to the items and conditions of each membership package and cannot be exchanged for cash.
11. Supporter recognition
A member's name or details are shown on the Wall of Recognition only with that supporting member's consent.
12. Cancellation and refunds
In the event of cancellation or changes to a registration, we reserve the right to withhold any deposit or fees already paid. Any cancellation or changes to a booking will be considered at our discretion. By making a payment, the applicant acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions.
