SCICCA at The 1st International Conference of the Asian Association for Buddhist Studies
เมื่อวันที่ 31 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2568 ศูนย์วิทยาศาสตร์เพื่อการอนุรักษ์งานศิลปะ (SCICCA) โดย ดร.นวรัตน์ แก้วอ่อน และ ดร.อนุกูล รัดสำโรง ได้เข้าร่วม การประชุมวิชาการนานาชาติ The 1st International Conference of the Asian Association for Buddhist Studies ซึ่งจัดโดย Asian Association for Buddhist Studies และสถาบันไทยศึกษา คณะครุศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ณ อาคารพระมิ่งขวัญ คณะครุศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติ สมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ เนื่องในโอกาสวันคล้ายวันพระราชสมภพ 70 พรรษา
ในการประชุมครั้งนี้ ผู้แทนจาก SCICCA ได้นำเสนอผลงานวิจัยหัวข้อ "Visualizing Buddhist Narratives: Imaging Science Study of Japanese Offset Printing (1948–1952)" ซึ่งเป็นการศึกษาเชิงวิทยาศาสตร์ด้านภาพพิมพ์ในชุด The Masterpieces of Phra Dheva Bhinimmit ที่จัดพิมพ์ขึ้นในช่วงปลายคริสต์ศตวรรษที่ 20 โดยการศึกษาครั้งนี้ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากบริษัท Cultural-Oriented Design Studio
เนื้อหาการวิจัยมุ่งเน้นการวิเคราะห์เทคนิคการพิมพ์และวัสดุที่ใช้ในการสร้างภาพประกอบพุทธประวัติ โดยเฉพาะกระบวนการพิมพ์ออฟเซตในประเทศญี่ปุ่นในยุคหลังสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ซึ่งนอกจากจะสะท้อนให้เห็นถึงความก้าวหน้าทางเทคโนโลยีการพิมพ์ในสมัยนั้นแล้ว ยังเผยให้เห็นถึงความประณีตทางศิลปะ และเจตจำนงอันแน่วแน่ในการสื่อสารหลักธรรมคำสอนผ่านภาพพิมพ์คุณภาพสูง เพื่อสืบทอดคุณค่าทางวัฒนธรรม และจิตวิญญาณให้คงอยู่กับสังคมไทยต่อไปในอนาคต
On August 31, 2025, representatives from the Science Conservation Centre for Arts (SCICCA), Dr. Nawarat Kaew-on and Dr. Anukul Radsamrong, took part in the inaugural International Conference of the Asian Association for Buddhist Studies. This event was organized by the Asian Association for Buddhist Studies in partnership with the Institute of Thai Studies., Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University, and was hosted at the Phra Mingkhwan Building, Faculty of Education, Chulalongkorn University. The conference was held in celebration of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's 70th birthday.
During the conference, the SCICCA team presented a research paper titled "Visualizing Buddhist Narratives: Imaging Science Study of Japanese Offset Printing (1948–1952)," which delved into the scientific analysis of a print series called The Masterpieces of Phra Dheva Bhinimmit, published in the late 20th century. This research was supported by the Cultural-Oriented Design Studio.
The study explored the printing techniques and materials used to depict the life stories of the Buddha, with a focus on the Japanese offset printing technology developed after World War II. The research not only underscores the technological progress of that era but also highlights the artistic sophistication and the deliberate effort to convey Buddhist teachings through high-quality printed images, thereby preserving cultural and spiritual heritage for future generations.
